This article offers an in-depth analysis of the role of metaphor and the stylistic strategies employed in the translation of poems by the prominent Uzbek poetess Zulfiya. Metaphor is examined as a fundamental device of poetic imagery through which the poet’s emotional experiences, worldview, and aesthetic principles are articulated. Consequently, the accurate, context-sensitive, and stylistically appropriate rendering of metaphorical expressions is essential for preserving the original poetic spirit, national cultural specificity, and artistic value of the source text. Drawing on selected examples from Zulfiya’s poetic works, the study investigates how metaphorical expressions are retained, modified, or reinterpreted in English translations.
