The article provides a comparative analysis of the historical-ethnographic and technical aspects of Azerbaijani and Uzbek carpet weaving. The article provides a comparative analysis of Azerbaijani and Uzbek carpet weaving traditions on scientific grounds. The aim of the study is to investigate the aesthetic style characteristics, technological processes, material selection and symbolic ornamentation formed in the carpet art of both nations. The use of raw materials such as silk and wool, dyeing of threads and tools and methods applied in carpet weaving are systematically presented. In particular, the specific features of the Nakhchivan and Iravan carpet schools and their traditional design features are commented on. The article, in addition to explaining the technological and functional differences between the types of courtyard and courtyard-free carpets, also considers the semantic and cultural meanings of the practice of placing signatures on carpets. Referring to his research, the importance of carpet art in terms of ethno-cultural identity and art history is substantiated.The results of the study show that in addition to cultural specificities, common artistic and technological elements are observed in the carpet weaving art of both peoples
