CURRENT STATUS OF VOCABULARY FORMATION IN TEACHING UZBEKISTAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

This article analyzes the results of a survey conducted among foreign students learning Uzbek as a foreign language. The study involved 114 foreign students who provided information about the difficulties they face in mastering the Uzbek vocabulary and the methods used for learning. The survey results show that students primarily use flashcards, books, and online applications to learn vocabulary; however, the time allocated for teaching vocabulary in lessons is insufficient. Additionally, the influence of the mother tongue on language learning is significant: for example, for Pakistani students, the vocabulary of Arabic and Persian languages has a positive impact on learning Uzbek. The study also emphasizes the importance of students' socio-emotional factors, motivation, and learning styles in vocabulary acquisition. This research provides a scientific basis for improving the methodological approaches to teaching Uzbek as a foreign language
