This article provides a comparative analysis of the distinctive aspects of female character portrayal in Western and Eastern literature of the 20th century. During the research, female images in the works of Abdulhamid Cholpon and William Faulkner were thoroughly examined. The article analyzes different approaches to creating female characters in Eastern and Western literary traditions, their socio-cultural contexts, and artistic methods of representation. The results demonstrate that in 20th-century literature, the female image manifests as a synthesis of universal and culturally-specific characteristics.
