EIJI MANO – BOBURSHUNOS OLIM

Abstract

Specialists have long recognized the great necessity of preparing scholarly and critical editions of the works created by our great ancestors in order to fully convey their invaluable heritage to the people. The creation of a critical text of “Boburnoma” has remained one of the most pressing issues in Babur studies until recent years. It was hoped that this noble task would be carried out by the scholars of our republic. However, that did not happen. The critical edition of “Boburnoma” was prepared not in Babur Mirza’s homeland, but in Japan. This honorable mission was undertaken by the prominent Babur scholar, Professor Eiji Mano. The result of nearly thirty years of painstaking work was presented to the academic community in 1995.
