The article presents the ideas put forward by Mahmudkhoja Behbudi in his time, which have not lost their significance during the period of independence. Also, through the fates of his heroes, the publicist reveals the tragedy of the nation, such as prejudices, excessive extravagance in public life, the destruction of the home for the sake of prestige, as well as problems of national independence, state development and encouraging young people to get an education. An artistic generalization is shown of the need to invest funds that would otherwise be spent on unnecessary expenses in the education of young people, to help them look at life in a new way, to learn about their rights, Understand national identity and national values. Condemnation of ignorance and economic backwardness, a shift toward renewal and development, and the struggle for national independence define the core content of the period of national revival. Moreover, it is emphasized that the identified problems are also relevant in modern life.
