The culture, mythology, and literature of the world’s peoples contain narratives associated with the artistic interpretation of various natural phenomena, including fire, lightning, and so on. These narratives reflect theological concepts, totemic beliefs, and local mental beliefs of a given people. In particular, unexpected bursts of flame, bright nighttime flashes of fire, and sparks evoked supernatural, magical, and demonological ideas among local residents, not rational scientific diagnoses, but rather supernatural ones, giving rise to various myths and tales. In this article, we will focus on mythological creatures that appeared in English and Uzbek mythology under the influence of natural phenomena such as elemental fires.
