Abstract

This article compares traditional and modern approaches to translation studies. The historical development of translation theory, the main ideas of classical schools, as well as innovative methods that appeared in the 21st century are deeply analyzed. The article explores linguistic, communicative, functional and cognitive approaches. The influence of modern technologies on the translation process, the possibilities and limitations of machine translation are discussed. The research results show that the integration of traditional and modern methods makes it possible to create the most effective translation strategy.
