“AL-QISTOSU-L-MUSTAQIM FI ILMI-L-ARUD” ASARINING INGLIZ TILIDAGI TARJIMASI XUSUSIDA

Abstract

The article examines the English translation of “Al-Qistas al-Mustaqim fi ilm al-Arud”, a work on the arud system by the great medieval scholar Mahmud ibn Umar az-Zamakhshari, rendered into English by Leopold Lewis Eisenlohr. The achievements attained in the translation and the shortcomings identified are highlighted in detail.
