O‘ZBEK TILIDA GIDROMETEOROLOGIK TERMINLAR SINONIMIYASI

Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of the linguistic features of the synonymy of hydrometeorological terms in the Uzbek language. The article analyzes the essence of the phenomenon of synonymy, its place in terminology, the reasons for the synonymy of hydrometeorological terms in the Uzbek language (borrowings from various languages, the difference between the vernacular and scientific style, differences in the formation of terms, errors in translation). Examples of the synonymy of hydrometeorological terms are given and the positive (subtle expression of meaning, stylistic diversity) and negative (confusion, difficulty in communication, redundant terms) aspects of synonymy are considered.
