Abstract

The article explores the role of cognitive science in teaching Russian to Uzbek students, focusing on cross-linguistic differences and cognitive challenges arising from the typological contrast between Russian and Uzbek. It examines cognitive mechanisms of perception, categorization, and conceptualization and their impact on mastering grammar and vocabulary. Methodological strategies based on cognitive principles are proposed to enhance linguistic, cognitive, and intercultural competence.
