In this article, the Uzbek and Russian translations of Ernest Hemingway’s novel A Farewell to Arms, rendered into Uzbek by Ibrohim G‘afurov in the 1970s, are compared with the original text. The study examines the translation of selected words and expressions that are characteristic of the author’s style. It also provides relevant recommendations for translating cultural realia and similes, taking into account the linguistic features of the target languages
