Abstract

The article explores methodological foundations for designing a system of exercises aimed at developing oral speech skills in students learning Russian as a foreign language (RFL). Oral communication is viewed as a key aspect of linguistic competence, reflecting the learner’s ability to use the language in real communicative situations. The author discusses the psychological and linguistic mechanisms of speaking, principles of exercise design, and the role of communicative, situational, and creative activities in fostering spontaneous speech. Examples from teaching practice are presented, emphasizing the importance of emotional involvement and interpersonal interaction in the learning process.
