Abstract

In this article, an attempt is made to analyze the definitions of the lexeme «mother» on the material of the French and Uzbek languages. At the present stage of development of a new scientific anthropocentric paradigm, gender studies are acquiring fundamental importance. The analysis of kinship terms and their representation in the systems of European and Oriental languages is one of the topical directions modern linguistics.
