The article presents a comparative analysis of Tashkent and London microtoponyms as onomastic phenomena that shape the linguistic and cultural landscape of the city. The constructed corpus was studied on the basis of comparative, quantitative and qualitative analyses, according to the elements of onomasiological and etymological approaches. Differences in motivational domains are shown: in Tashkent, historical-cultural and ideological names are widespread, while in London, professional, market-related and archaic forms are widespread. Proportional ratios, typical naming patterns and signs of “toponymic erosion” are identified. The influence of national identity, globalization and historical stratification on toponymy is discussed. The results identify mechanisms of memory and orientation, and determine areas of interdisciplinary research. The practical significance of the study is related to the sustainable development of cultural policy, mapping and planning projects in London and Tashkent.
