Аннотация

This article addresses the issues of identifying the equivalence of fixed
expressions (proverbs and idioms) in English and Uzbek languages and the creation of a parallel
dictionary. It discusses the comparison of fixed expressions in both languages, studies their
linguistic features, and analyzes the challenges encountered in translating such expressions, as
well as the methodological approaches necessary for accurate equivalence. The article highlights
the issues of defining fixed expressions, comparing their semantic and syntactic structures and
considering linguistic and cultural differences. Examples of proverbs in both English and Uzbek
languages are provided for the discussion.
