Writers called Three Kamals in Turkish literature, they are: Kamal Tahir,
Yashar Kamal and Orkhan Kamal. Despite the fact that their names and pseudonyms are the same,
all three authors have brought Anatolian life, its geography and culture to literature. Just as the
high class and their life stories were the main plot line of the works in the literature of Sarveti
Funun and the Tulip Era, the working-peasant class and their problems are highlighted in the
literature of Orkhan Kamal and the Republic period. In Turkish literature, the main theme of the
works of the Three Kamals is the events taking place against the background of social inequality
and injustice. However, despite these similar features, Kamal Tahir highlighted the theme of
statehood, Orkhan Kamal equality and Yashar Kamal especially in their works.
Nazim Hikmet, whom he met in Bursa prison, had a great role in Orkhan Kamal's novels
and stories addressing the theme of equality. Nazim Hikmet instilled the idea of social equality in
Orkhan Kamal and there by changed his literary point of view. Even the writer explained the way
of writing his works: "The purpose of my art... Is there any problem in summarizing it like this?"
The effort to want our people, and the human race in general, to be the happiest in the most
independent conditions in the direction of positive sciences. Like the famous Lincoln's definition
of democracy: "Government of the people, for the people, by the people," he says. Why don't we
say that? Art in the name of humanity's effort to be managed by humanity for humanity." Orkhan
Kamal wrote down the events he encountered and also noted his point of view on these issues. In
his works, the desire for social equality played a big role in the formation of the view on various
issues. In the novels and stories of the writer, it can be seen that he wishes for the formation of
complete social equality among people. Orkhan Kamal's great love for the Anatolian peasant is
noticeable in his novels and stories. He has always noted that he has special sympathy for the
hardworking Anatolian worker. At the end of his works, Orkhan Kamal analyzes the situation of
the protagonists and calls them to fight more persistently against the people who put them in this
situation.
