This article explores the structural and artistic characteristics of the
traditional introduction (prologue) in the “Goʻroʻgʻli” epic cycle. The introductory part of the
epic plays an important role in preparing the audience for the narrative, establishing the
ideological direction, and reflecting the performer's (bakhshi) creative mastery. Through
textual analysis, the paper examines the composition of these epic openings, their thematic
functions, and the use of traditional folklore formulas. Furthermore, the study identifies how
these prologues serve to bridge the mythical world with reality, ensuring the integrity of the
epic cycle.
