This article analyzes the process of transformation of the image of women
in Uzbek folklore into classical literature. The artistic functions of such images as the alpine girl,
mother, faithful lover, wise woman, and queen in folklore are examined, and the poetic, symbolic,
and philosophical content they acquired in classical literature is highlighted. The research results
show that the image of women in oral folk art did not directly migrate to written literature, but
rather acquired a new function and meaning as a result of the author’s aesthetic ideal, the genre
nature of the work, and poetic processing. The process of transformation of the image of women
from a clear epic character into a multi-layered poetic image in the transition from folklore to
written literature is also shown
