In the article, dialectal words from Shaykh Sulaymon Bukhari’s work
“Lughati Chighatoyi va Turki Usmoniy” are compared with Uzbek dialects. The phonetic and
semantic features of the words in the dictionary and in Uzbek dialects – such as expansion and
contraction phenomena – have been analyzed. “Lughati Chighatayi va Turki Usmaniy” is
considered an important historical source in the study of Uzbek dialects
