This article examines the distinctive poetic styles of Alisher Navoi and Muhammad Fizuli, two seminal figures in Turkic literature. Alisher Navoi, who assimilated and advanced the greatest achievements of classical Eastern poetry, significantly influenced both Turkish and Persian literary traditions. Among the poets who creatively built upon Navoi’s legacy within Turkic literature, Muhammad Fizuli, the eminent Azerbaijani poet, stands out as a key figure. The literary connection between these two remarkable poets extends beyond isolated similarities in individual works; it is rooted in a shared worldview, their engagement with social realities, and their distinctive approaches to artistic expression. Most notably, Navoi and Fizuli masterfully integrated themes of romantic love with profound social commentary, embedding human suffering and existential dilemmas into their ghazals. Their poetic legacy has shaped the trajectory of Turkic literary tradition, establishing a foundational artistic paradigm that has remained influential for over five centuries.
