This article analyzes the work “Baburnama” by Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur from a literary-linguistic and historical-sociological perspective. The fact that the work covers historical events, political processes, social relations and the cultural environment of the 15th-16th centuries based on the author's personal observations is scientifically explained. The artistic features of “Baburnama”, its linguistic richness, realistic., style and possibilities for reflecting social life are revealed. During the study, the reliability of the work as a historical source and its aesthetic value as a literary heritage are harmoniously highlighted. Also, the lexical units, historical terms and social concepts used in the work are analyzed and their significance in expressing the spirit of the era is substantiated. The combination of the author's personal experiences with historical reality is evaluated from the point of view of literary and artistic interpretation. The development of the memoir genre in Eastern literature and its role as a historical and scientific source are discussed using the example of “Baburnama”.
