In this article, the artistic interpretation of baburid history is analyzed based on the novels belonging to the “Empire of the Moghul” series written by the English author Alex Rutherford. The study examines the literary reconstruction of the baburid rulers and the historical events that took place around them within the fictional narrative. The novels vividly depict the challenges faced by the six great baburid emperors, first in the process of “building a great empire” and later in preserving it, as well as the formation of their images as literary characters in the reader’s perception. At the same time the author’s contribution to the popularization of baburid history within the traditions of the Western historical novel is revealed. The results of the study serve as an important resource for the scholarly investigation of the literary representation of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur and baburid history, as well as for the study of the historical novel as a genre
