Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur memoirs are analyzed as a monument of Chagatai literature combining autobiographical narrative with historical evidence. The language reflects linguistic processes of the transitional era between Central Asian and Indian writing traditions. Sociological analysis reveals mechanisms of court culture functioning and interethnic interactions at the turn of the 15th-16th centuries.
