This article analyzes the linguistic challenges encountered in translating terms used in the field of public administration from English into Uzbek, as well as the theoretical foundations and practical principles of compiling bilingual dictionaries. The morphological, lexical-semantic, and pragmatic features of terms are examined from a comparative perspective, and the criteria for distinguishing between nominal and terminological units are substantiated. Furthermore, the linguistic differences between calquing and borrowing are discussed, semantic consistency in translating compound terms is ensured, and contextual factors in selecting equivalents are highlighted. The article provides examples of structural and pragmatic differences between English and Uzbek terms and presents conclusions regarding the accuracy, consistency, and standardization of term translation
