Abstract

This article analyzes the modern methodological foundations of teaching the Uzbek language and literature in academic lyceums. It extensively covers the role of communicative, competency-based and cognitive approaches in the educational process, interactive forms of teacher and student activity. Also, based on a comparative analysis with the English language teaching methodology (CEFR, CLT, Task-based Learning, Formative Assessment), the directions for improving Uzbek language teaching are revealed. The article puts forward practical recommendations for developing language competencies in students, forming creative and critical thinking in accordance with the requirements of the national certification system. The results of the research serve to ensure the integration of Uzbek language teaching into international methodological standards.
