Abstract

This article uses examples to illustrate the reflection of national thinking in the cognitive metonymy of the Uzbek language. The article introduces the term cognitive metonymy for the first time and explains its essence. It reveals that cognitive metonymy also reflects the systematic knowledge of the universe by language speakers. In cognitive metonymy, Annotation concepts are easier to understand in relation to other concepts. Annotation concepts are understood based on their relationships with concrete concepts. In both cognitive metaphor and cognitive metonymy, it is observed that concrete concepts are the basis for understanding Annotation and complex concepts. In this process, the interaction between sensory and mental cognition is more pronounced
