This article analyzes the hidden meaning in Ulugbek Hamdam’s novel “Sabo and Samandar” from a pragmatic point of view. The article considers the phenomenon of presupposition as the main tool for shaping the semantics of a literary text. The expression of presupposition in the work through lexical and morphological units is analyzed, and their role in revealing the content of the text, as well as in creating pragmatic meaning in the reader’s perception, is revealed. It is precisely the inextricable connection of presupposition with the context and the pragmatic tool for creating hidden meaning in the author’s speech that is revealed. Also, the article interprets presupposition in a pragmatic aspect not only as a hidden unit that enhances the artistic and aesthetic effect, but also as a tool that demonstrates the uniqueness of the author’s style
