Abstract

This article analyzes the names of sacred places - agionyms from a linguistic point of view. The ideas on the division of the names of sacred places, in particular, religiously significant places in Uzbekistan into thematic groups, their significance in the onomastic scope, and their study are presented. Also, the issues of the social significance of the names of sacred places, that is, their place and role in people's lives are covered.
