The basic dialect of the Uzbek literary language is a question that has been lost to modern times, but in the 1920s it was hotly debated and was considered an important event in deciding the fate of the literary language. This problem was the subject of discussion at conferences, and various statements were made on this issue in the press of the time. Jadids were especially serious about this work. Abdurahim Yoldash was also one of the Jadids, who advocated building it as a basic dialect of the Uzbek literary language on the basis of the language of the time of Alisher Navoi and one of the living dialects. The article analyzes A. Yoldash’s views on this issue.
