Abstract

This article analyzes the unique features of the dialect spoken in the Shofirkon
district of the Bukhara region. Attention is given to the origin and etymology of Shofirkon district
and its toponyms, and the meanings of ethnographisms are clarified. The article notes the
relatively high number of lexical units belonging to the Tajik language found in the district’s
dialect.
