Abstract

The research work is on the Samarkand region, and mainly the methods of
description, analysis, generalization, comparison, and areal research were used in the work. The
article mainly studies the history of the study of the Samarkand regional dialect and the work done
and being done today, as well as the dialects used in the territory of the Samarkand region. All
three dialects of Uzbek dialects are used in the dialect of the Samarkand region. While the Karluk
dialect is mainly active in the urban areas of the Samarkand region, the Oghuz dialect is used in
some minority areas of the city of Samarkand and in some neighborhoods of the Pasdargum
district. The Kipchak dialect is used in the remaining majority areas. The dialect of the northern
regions of the Samarkand region, taken as an object, has not been studied. The dialect of ethnic
Arabs in the Ishtikhan district has not been studied. Today, we can find representatives of both
Karluk and Kipchak in the dialect of the Ishtikhan district.
