LINGUOCULTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NUMBER FOUR IN THE AZERBAİJANİ LANGUAGE

Abstract

This article investigates the linguocultural characteristics of the number four.
The sacred content of the number four is diverse and multifaceted. This “life” number, which
regulates the material order and creates the basis for life, can be characterized not only by the
concepts of perfection, integrity, completeness, perfection, holiness, immortality, but also by
indicating direction, aspect and side. The number four is also considered one of the sacred
numbers in Islam. In folklore examples, the number four is most often used in combinations
indicating four sides, four directions, four sides, etc. directions.
