Abstract

This article analyzes the life and rich creative legacy of the renowned folk
bakhshi Ergash Shoir. In particular, it highlights his significant role in preserving and developing
the traditions of the Qorghan school of epic storytelling, his innovative approach to performance,
and his contribution to the continuity of the bakhshi tradition. The study also discusses the cultural
and educational value of the epics from the “Goroghli” cycle performed by the poet, as well as
his renditions of traditional folk songs (termalar).
