Abstract

The study explores the use of online platforms for assessing critical thinking skills in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students, focusing on cognitive and metacognitive abilities. The findings suggest that online platforms provide an effective means of fostering and assessing critical thinking, as they facilitate interactive tasks, collaborative learning, and real-time feedback. Furthermore, the research highlights challenges such as technological limitations and varying levels of student engagement. The study concludes by offering recommendations for optimizing the use of online platforms in assessing critical thinking skills, particularly in the context of EFL education.
