Abstract

This article examines the lexical layer of the Uyghur dialects spoken in the
territory of Tashkent regions, the factors influencing their formation, and their linguistic
interactions with the Uzbek language. The lexical and ethnolinguistic features of Uyghur dialects
are analyzed on the basis of audio materials recorded from respondents, revealing the longstanding
historical and linguistic connections between the Uzbek and Uyghur languages through
lexemes related to national dishes, beverages, and everyday life. In particular, the semantic,
etymological, and phonetic features of such lexical units as tamaq, honan, gush nan, sanza,
otkancaј, and saј are comparatively analyzed. The study also identifies pronunciation changes
that emerged under the phonetic influence of the Uzbek language in the speech of Uyghurs living
in the Tashkent region.
