Abstract

Numbers have had symbolic, mystical meanings since ancient times. Their
symbolism has found a wide place in the mythological thought of peoples and has found its bright
reflection in oral folk art. The study of numerical symbols, which, while forming a commonality in
the cultures of many peoples, have different meanings, is one of the current problems of modern
folklore studies. The study of the semantic properties of the number "one", which is widely used in
folklore samples from the Nakhchivan region of Azerbaijan, is of great importance.
