Abstract

Hebrew names in the Torah began to be used in various languages,
including the Uzbek language, as a result of religious factors. Many of these names were
adapted to the phonetic system of the Uzbek language, and as a result, different parallels
of the same name emerged. Another factor that led to the use of Hebrew names in the Uzbek
language is the geographical factor. One of the areas where Jews migrated and lived at
different times in history was the Republic of Uzbekistan, as a result of which word
exchange took place between the two languages. The names Ayyub, Jabroil, David, Eve,
Hobil, Hojar, Ibrahim, Idrok, Idris, Ilyos, Imron, Is'hoq, Ismoil, Isrofil, Isroil, Kanon,
Qobil, Muso, Maryam, Nabi, Rohila, Rafael, Salmon, Sora, Sulaymon, Yaqub, Yahyo,
Yunus, etc. are Hebrew names transliterated into the Uzbek language
