Abstract

This study analyzes the genesis of phonetic tagging in dialect corpora
and its stages of development. It highlights a new scientific paradigm for studying dialects
in a digital environment based on corpus linguistics. The formation of the phonetic tagging
process and its role in the study of dialectal speech are demonstrated. The methodological
foundations of phonetic transcription based on the IPA system are explained. The practical
evolution of phonetic annotation is analyzed based on European experience, particularly
in the case of dialect corpora from Great Britain and Germany. The scientific importance
of phonetic tagging in identifying dialectal variations is justified. The research findings
indicate the necessity of standardized phonetic annotation in the creation of dialect
corpora. This approach will serve as an important methodological foundation for the
future development of national dialect corpora
