Abstract

This article analyzes the process of the heroʻs setting out on a journey
in the Gorogly epic cycle from an artistic and poetic perspective. The study examines the
role of the journey motif in the plot, the reasons for embarking on the journey, the
motivating factors that encourage departure, and the attitudes of relatives and close people
toward it. The article also highlights such aspects as the heroʻs journey being not only a
physical departure, but also a means of achieving spiritual maturity and emerging as a
fully developed individual. This article comparatively examines the journey motif in the
epics The Birth of Gorogly, Avazxon, and Alpomish
