The article analyzes the philosophical, mythological, and aesthetic
interpretations of the problem of “immortality” in artistic thinking. It examines the inseparable
connection between the concept of immortality and the phenomenon of death, as well as its
material, symbolic, spiritual, and technological forms. Using examples from world literature and
mythology such as Gilgamesh, Dracula, Frankenstein, and Harry Potter, the study demonstrates
that physical immortality is often portrayed as having a tragic nature. In addition, the article
explores the representation of the motif of eternity in national artistic thought through
Nodirabegim Ibrohimova’s novella “The Witch, or the Thousand-Year Life” and the sciencefiction
works of Bahodir Abdurazzoq. The study concludes that spiritual and symbolic immortality
are generally interpreted in literature and art as positive values, whereas physical and
technological immortality are frequently associated with the destruction of human essence
