Abstract

This article examines the use of cognitive metaphors in poetic texts, emphasizing their role in reflecting the aesthetic potential of language, national thought, and cultural heritage. The study analyzes the national and cultural characteristics of cognitive metaphors in the Uzbek language, with a focus on the challenges of their translation. Using the French translation of Alisher Navoi's ghazals as a case study, the article explores the complexities of recreating these metaphors in translation and their impact on preserving the original cultural and linguistic nuances.
