Abstract

This article explores the significance of Uzbek classical poetry, particularly Alisher Navoi’s poetic innovations, as a crucial poetic factor in the renewal of Cho‘lpon’s aesthetic thought. Through comparative analysis, it is demonstrated that while introducing new poetic images, symbols, content, and form into national poetry, the poet drew lessons from the creative laboratory of his great predecessor, Alisher Navoi. The study substantiates that while images such as the golden cage, the nightingale, and the stone, along with metaphors like “the palace of loyalty” – “the mansion of love” and “the ocean of love” – “the sea of glances”, conveyed mystical meanings in Navoi’s lyrics, they served as instruments for social interpretation in Cho‘lpon’s poetry.
