Abstract

This article explores mustazod, a lyrical genre developed by Alisher Navoi, with a particular focus on its manifestation in the poet’s early works. For the first time, the study specifically examines mustazods found in Navoi’s youth poetry, analyzing those preserved in Ilk Devon and the Divan of the Aq Qoyunlu Admirers. These early versions are systematically compared with their counterparts in Navoi’s complete devons, enabling a deeper understanding of the poet’s creative process. Through this comparative analysis, the study uncovers the stages of textual refinement and artistic evolution in Navoi’s poetry, highlighting the transformation of mustazods from their initial drafts to their final, fully developed forms
