Abstract

The works of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, particularly «Baburnama», hold significant importance in the realm of global science and scholarship. This work serves as a valuable source of information, encompassing social and political events, as well as providing insights into geography, linguistics, literature, ethnography, medicine, history, and other fields. «Baburnama» has been translated into nearly 30 languages, highlighting the richness of its content and style. Research has been conducted on the linguistic features, lexical units, and comparative analysis of the translations of «Baburnama» in foreign languages. Furthermore, the comparison of the Uzbek and Turkish versions of «Baburnama,» particularly regarding the precise and accurate translation of expressions denoting behavior, is considered one of the pressing areas in translation studies. This is crucial as the expressions describing the appearances and behaviors of Babur’s relatives, allies, and even enemies are sufficient to evoke a clear image of them. This article aims to compare the Uzbek and Turkish versions of Babur’s work, examining the translation of words and phrases that express human behavior, assessing the translator’s skill, and identifying the successes and shortcomings of the translator concerning the raised issues.
