The article explores the issue of conveying national words in literary translation from both theoretical and practical perspectives. National words is analyzed as an essential factor representing a nation’s spirit, lifestyle, traditions, and cultural identity. It also discusses the challenges of translating realia, toponyms, national symbols, and idiomatic expressions into another language, as well as the main translation strategies such as transcription, calque, explanatory translation, adaptation, and contextual substitution. Examples from Uzbek and English literature are examined to show how translators preserve national words and maintain cultural balance
