Abstract

This article examines the relationship between psycholinguistics and translation theory using a literary text as an example, taking into account various viewpoints of scholars. The main distinction between literary translation and all other types of translation lies in its artistic nature, as the translated text itself represents a work of art. The study emphasizes that translation is not merely a linguistic act but also a psychological and creative process that requires deep understanding, interpretation, and re-expression. Psycholinguistic mechanisms play a crucial role in achieving equivalence between the source and target texts, highlighting the translator’s cognitive and emotional involvement in the act of translation.
