Despite its deep-rooted past, rich historical and cultural heritage left in the country, customs and traditions that still survive today, folklore and folk music, the Turkmen community that has existed in Iraq for centuries is consciously or unconsciously ignored, and attempts are made to ignore its existence. The Turkmens, who have been living under severe oppression in Iraq for years, have preserved their national identity, language and culture despite the genocide, assimilation and adverse conditions they have been subjected to. The Turkmens have continued their struggle to obtain their rights to this day. The Turkmens who have not rebelled against the state to this day have not taken up arms or rebelled against the government, but on the contrary, have had a democratic, peace-loving, civil, urban culture and have always been loyal to the state. The Turkmens, who play an important role in the development and rise of Iraq, constitute the third main component of the country in terms of population potential. The Turkmen, whose only desire is to live humanely in their own land, are struggling to survive and continue their national existence amidst two separate threats from the north and the south. The Turkmen community, which supports the territorial integrity of Iraq, is a pluralist parliamentarian, respects human rights, and desires to achieve its political, administrative, and cultural rights. The Turkmen community, deprived of all kinds of political, social, cultural, economic, and diplomatic support, has unfortunately been subjected to unjust oppression and oppression by the Iraqi leadership. In the north of the country, which is called the Security Zone, the Turkmen have faced treatment no different from that of the Baghdad leadership.
