Abstract

This study examined the role of the interior image in literary works, that is, the habitat of the hero and artistic means that help clarify his inner state of mind. The image of the interior, rather than as a decorative tool, serves to express the inner world of the hero, the social environment that influenced him. Specifically in this study, using the example of Ahmad Azam's work “A Dream or a journey to the land of Chains”, the symbolic meaning of the interior was discussed, as well as its significance for denoting the character of the characters and the ideological position of the author. The study sheds light on how the interior and its symbolic symbols are used in a literary context, how they relate to the overall content and philosophical idea of the work. Artistic writing shows the importance of the interior and its connection with the inner state of a person, through which the author interprets inner human searches such as loneliness and disappointment.
