This article examines methodological strategies for developing studentsʼ literary-analytical competencies and life skills in literary education through a lateral-creative approach, in alignment with emerging socio-cultural demands. It discusses instances of literary analysis that reflect studentsʼ mental imagery, the formation of idealized constructs, psychological experiences, and the integration of imaginative goals into symbolic characters. The article also outlines the distinctive features and stages of fostering lateral thinking. Additionally, it offers practical recommendations for applying lateral-creative questions and tasks in the context of literary instruction
